Team Idaho Powerlifting is a Non-Profit organization striving to ensure the positive mental and physical development of our youth in Idaho through physical fitness and disciplined strength training, goal setting and competition.
Team Idaho Powerlifting was founded in 2003 by Steve Rayborn, a coach and mentor. The sole purpose of Team Idaho Powerlifting is to bring together young strength athletes from around the state of Idaho, prepare them for National and International competition and through legitimate fundraising, ensure Idaho Athletes get the opportunity to compete at the highest possible level.
Since 2003 over 100 student athletes have competed, representing Idaho at the Annual USAPL High School National Powerlifting Championships. 27 have returned to Idaho as High School National Champions, 9 of which have earned multiple National Titles. 6 Idaho lifters have gone on to represent the United States at the IPF Sub-Junior/Junior World Championships. Currently Idaho lifters have claimed 4 IPF Sub-Junior World Championship titles; South Africa in 2008, Brazil in 2009, the Czech Republic in 2010 and in 2011 Jesse Norris became Idaho's first 2-time World Champion while competing in Moose Jaw, Canada.
Our young Idaho lifters currently hold numerous National Meet, American and World Records in all 3 Powerlifting disciplines.
